Dedicated to building superyachts in aluminium and steel, Heesen is a leader in semi-custom, fast delivery superyachts in the 50-57m range. Focusing on quality, craftsmanship and innovation including enhanced fuel efficiency, Heesen was founded in 1978 and has a portfolio consisting of three build concepts to suit different client requirements in terms of delivery times and personalisation: Series, Smart Custom and Full Custom. Each yacht is built to the highest engineering standards and comes with the painstaking quality for which Dutch yachts are renowned. Heesen is one of the few shipyards that build their luxury interiors in-house. A team of 100 highly skilled craftspeople works with precious veneers, fine leathers and luxurious fabrics to deliver any design a client can dream of. As well as offering yachts to various levels of customisation to suit each client’s goals and required delivery time, Heesen is known for its innovative technological and design solutions and advances in efficiency. Heesen’s revolutionary Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) is one of the shipyard’s key achievements. Devised by Van Oossanen Naval Architects, this hull form drastically reduces fuel consumption by úp to 30 per cent. Additionally, it enables the yacht to move through the water as smoothly as possible, significantly increasing the comfort on board. Heesen is also known for its patented Hull Vane® technology, another van Ooosanen ingenious solution. It consists of an underwater wing that harnesses the power of the waves and transforms it into forward motion. The hull Hull Vane® enables the yacht to have a greater range with no change in tank volume. Heesen additionally offers hybrid solutions to improve efficiency and deliver silent cruise up to 10 knots.

Heesen Models Available
Heesen Series yachts are built on a proven engineering platform and are fully engineered and designed, with the significant advantage of short delivery times. Available to buy during construction, they are built on speculation, with customisation to the interior and decks possible but dependent on delivery times and schedules.
The Heesen Series is available in four 50M models: Steel Displacement, Aluminium Semi-Displacement, and either Steel or Aluminium in the yard’s unique fuel-efficient Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF). The Series also offers two further FDHF platforms, the 55m Steel and 57m Aluminium.
Smart Custom And Full Custom Yachts By Hessen
Heesen’s Smart Custom yachts are fully engineered above and below the main deck, but offer the possibility of a custom designed superstructure. This gives the combined advantages of a shorter delivery time and the reliability of a proven engineering platform while offering the opportunity to own a yacht with elements of your own design.

Notable Yachts by Hessen
GENESIS, at 80m and 1,700 GT with a top speed of 29 knots, launched in 2023 as the world’s largest and fastest all-aluminium motor yacht with conventional propeller propulsion. It features a fully-rated helicopter landing pad for a Eurocopter EC135 that transforms into an outdoor cinema, a crystal elevator and a 7m glass-bottom pool.
LUSINE is a 2021-launched full-custom steel motor yacht featuring Heesen’s patented FDHF fuel efficient hull form. Her exterior, designed by Frank Laupman of Omega Architects, integrates the main, bridge, and sun decks with a distinctive 'bird's wing' motif. LUSINE reaches a top speed of 17.5 knots and offers a range of 4,200 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 13 knots.
GALACTICA SUPER NOVA, an aluminium yacht also in the Fast Displacement Hull Form, offers a top speed of 30 knots and a standout exterior design by Espen Øino. And 65m GALACTICA STAR was the world’s first aluminium yacht with a fast displacement hull, once considered impossible along conventional lines. over 50 million computer calculations in addition to exhaustive testing to achieve a hull 30% more efficient than any other tested so far.
