ABOUT HATTERAS

Founded over 60 years ago by Willis Slane, Hatteras began with a vision to build a fishing boat robust enough to navigate the treacherous waters off Cape Hatteras. This dream led to the creation of KNIT WITS, the first 12M/41' fibreglass yacht that revolutionised the industry. Today, Hatteras Yachts has evolved from its pioneering beginnings into a prominent builder of luxury motor yachts and sportfishing convertibles, leading the industry in design, construction, and innovation. 

 

Hatteras Yachts, based in New Bern, North Carolina, operates from a large facility that includes state-of-the-art equipment and technology. This dedicated space allows Hatteras to maintain control over every aspect of the yacht building process, from the initial design through the final fit and finish. Over the years, Hatteras has been at the forefront of introducing groundbreaking technologies in yacht design, including advanced hull designs, propulsion systems, and customisation options that enhance the yachting experience.
