Amels have created some of the best-known custom-built yachts ever launched. An experienced team of skilled Dutch craftsmen are driven to perfect every detail and deliver each yacht, on time and on budget. The yard’s journey as a custom builder began with their first large luxury yacht projects over 50 years ago, developing designs with the legendary yacht designer Jon Bannenberg which blossomed into an era of iconic projects. Today, each Amels project combines the heritage of the yard’s yacht building excellence with the imagination of your chosen designer. Amels’ in-house design and engineering teams are second-to-none, with vast experience in collaborating with the most renowned designers in the world as well as classification societies and flag states. The Damen Research Laboratory’s work on shipbuilding innovations for class-leading comfort, low noise and sustainability can also be leveraged for your build.

The Amels Limited Editions yacht range offers various luxury yachts intended for clients who seek a first-class boat and quick delivery. The 60-metre Amels 60 is a futureproof classic built on a proven platform, designed by Espen Øino. The 80-metre Amels 80 complements nature’s timeless beauty with Amels’ reputation for quality. The Hybrid Amels 80 is powered by future-proof sustainable technology.
Notable Yachts by Amels
From their first yachts, which were some of the largest and most sophisticated yachts of their day including BOADICEA and MONTKAJ, to today, Amels has a fleet of icons. 89M HERE COMES THE SUN was the flagship of the Amels fleet since 2017 and underwent a full custom refit at the yard completed in 2021 after a 6M extension. PROJECT TANZANITE, an Amels 120 full custom and the largest superyacht in build in the Netherlands, will be head of the fleet upon delivery in 2025. ENERGY, at 77.8M, features a stunning exterior design by Espen Øino, Zuretti interiors, a large open top deck, large aft pool and very wide side decks that can be utilised as private guest balconies.
Amels Limited Editions Classics include the 55M Amels 180 (GALENE, NOMAD and PAPA among the standout examples), a popular charter choice that has proven itself on the resale market. There is also the 60M Amels 200 (such as VOLPINI 2, STELLA M and MOONSTONE), offering a four-deck elevator, air-conditioned sundeck gym and hybrid power technology. The Amels 206, originally the Amels 199, has revolutionary curves, large round windows and a cutting edge ‘Scimitar’ bow (examples include EVENT, MADAME KATE and SEA & US). The Amels 212 and extended Amels 220 version was described by interior designer Andrew Winch as, “a grand yacht, in the tradition of the great ocean liners of the 1920s and 1930s", with NENINKA (ex. AURORA BOREALIS), Z and SEA RHAPSODY as examples. The largest Amels Limited Editions Classic is the 74M Amels 242, designed by Tim Heywood with a dedicated Owner’s Deck, magnificent spaces and exceptional manoeuvrability. Examples include SYNTHESIS, NEW SECRET and PLVS VLTRA.
