Building on a century-long reputation for ultra-stylish smaller craft capturing the best in Italian design, Riva opened its superyacht division in 2015.

Riva began its journey in Italy, when Pietro Riva, a skilled carpenter, made a name for himself repairing boats damaged by a fierce storm. He went on to open a shipyard in Sarnico, laying the foundation for what would become one of the most iconic yacht brands in the world. Under Pietro's son Ernesto, the Riva brand gained further fame by setting numerous speed and motorboat records during the 1920s and 1930s.

In the 1950s, Carlo Riva steered the company toward pleasure boating, enhancing Riva's esteemed reputation for elegance, style, and beauty. The brand joined the Ferretti Group in May 2000, which further integrated technology, design, and facilities into Riva's contemporary and modern style. Today, the Riva yard in Ancona, spanning almost 80,000sqm, is the home of the Riva Superyachts division, where a specialist engineering and design team work closely with designer Mauro Micheli and Officina Italiana Design to produce the yard’s semi-custom vessels.
