Karen Ball

One of the best known and most respected Yacht Brokers in Asia, Karen has bought and sold yachts in the region for almost 20 years. Raised in Hong Kong as part of a family who worked in the marine industry as well as owning and racing their own yachts, Karen’s lifelong passion for life on the water saw her crewing on private yachts in Europe and the USA before launching her career as a Broker in Hong Kong in 2007.

A trailblazer for women in the yachting industry, Karen was one of the first truly active female Brokers in South East Asia, selling yachts on a regular basis at a time when brokerage was overwhelmingly led by men.

With particular expertise in sailing yachts and custom new-build motor catamarans in the 15-40m (49-131’) size sector, she has successfully closed deals on several million dollars worth of yachts in her career so far. Karen is equally trusted to get results by Sellers (whom she represents in around 60% of her transactions) and Buyers, and over half of the Owners she works with are repeat clients, who appreciate her insight and support not only during the purchase process, but beyond.

“Yacht ownership needs don't stop when the papers are transferred,” says Karen. “There is always more to be done to support a yacht Owner. I never walk away at the end of a sale - I am always there for follow up and support even when the buying process has ended.”
