Monica Aguiar

Monica was born in Havana, Cuba, and grew up in South Florida from the age of 7. She graduated from the University of Central Florida with a degree in Marketing and later pursued her Master’s degree in Human Resource Management at Florida International University.

She began her career in talent acquisition in 2018, working as a Technical Recruiter at TEKSystems and later at Northwestern Mutual, where she oversaw recruitment efforts for Financial Advisors, managed job postings across multiple platforms, and personally sourced candidates through networking events to attract top talent.

 In 2022, Monica joined ShipMonk in Fort Lauderdale, transitioning from an Operations Corporate Recruiter to an HR Business Partner. In this role, she provided strategic HR support by managing employee relations, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and implementing performance processes.

Outside of work, Monica is an avid traveler who has visited over 25 countries and regularly practices yoga and Pilates.

She is bilingual in English and Spanish.
