Fraser Yachts at the 2016 Cannes Yachting Festival
September is a month to celebrate all things yachting along the French Riviera, as the industry celebrates another successful Mediterranean yacht charter season. Fraser is looking forward two of yachting’s premier shows next month: the Monaco Yacht Show and the Cannes Yachting Festival – marquee events that serve to cement this dazzling stretch of coastline as the world’s yachting hub.
First off the mark in September is the Cannes Yachting Festival, which will run from 6th – 11th September. The festival will take place in both the Vieux Port of Cannes - the city’s old port, centered around the famous Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in the heart of the city - and Port Pierre Canto - at the eastern end of Cannes’ famous beachside promenade, La Croisette. Billed as Europe’s leading in-water boating event, the Cannes Yachting Festival will be opening its doors for the 39th time and promises to be the biggest yet: 579 yachts, including 87 world premiers, and nearly the same again in exhibitors. Event organisers are expecting more than 50,000 yachting enthusiasts to pass through the gates over the course of the event, keen to discover the yachts in the port and at anchor nearby.
