VIRTUS’ contemporary and sophisticated design is by VYD Studio, a young, dynamic and multi-award-winning design studio founded by Paolo Dose and Mauro Giamboi. Her naval architecture is by Jaron Ginton of Ginton Naval Design, who counts 74 hulls designed and completed or under construction, 10 of which built by Mengi Yay.
At 44m and 485 gross tons VIRTUS is a heavy displacement yacht offering one of the best gross tonnage to size ratios on the market today. She displays a stunning and spacious layout with a 9m beam. Her remarkable stabilisation system is a result of Mengi Yay’s pioneering use of anti-rolling hull form which also performs a rare low-resistance surface effect. The combination of an advanced hull and stabilisation and the additional four FIN stabilisers ensure she will cruise incredibly smoothly under any sea conditions.
VIRTUS will boast plentiful deck spaces, including a bar, foredeck seating and sunbathing area. The sundeck is comparable to a much larger yacht and offers the best views on board, not to mention plenty of space for the spa pool surrounded by sun pads, the bar and sun loungers aft. The hard-top covers most of this zone and is designed with a solar tinted skylight giving the feel of a transparent roof with unparalleled views of the sky.
The foredeck is large, and the configuration is still flexible with the possibility of a generous seating and sunbathing area surrounding a spa pool or alternatively a touch and go helipad.
The beach club is an exceptional alfresco living area where two hydraulic swimming platforms offer more than 52m2 of living space. Room for toys is also provided with VIRTUS able to host two tenders totally invisible from the outside, thus preserving the sleek and harmonious lines of this beautiful superyacht.
The interior finishings are exquisite with plenty of natural light and light tones creating a sense of space and connection with the outside environment. Art, elegant design and carefully selected materials seamlessly combine throughout.
In the main salon one of the key design concepts is making the guests feel they are at sea with the same level of comfort they can get at home. Floor to ceiling windows and balconies offer an immersive experience with the environment.
The impressive 47m2 Owner’s stateroom complete with a lobby and office is remarkably spacious and 15% larger than the nearest competitor in the same class. Large windows on either side of the stateroom offer impressive views from the comfort of the king-sized bed. All guest bedrooms are beautifully detailed.
The sky lounge, one of the most evocative areas in a superyacht, offers countless entertainment and leisure options such as dining, drinking at the bar or watching TV on the mega screen. A natural flow between the exterior and the interior spaces brings complete harmony and the modular furniture can change shape, offering a myriad seating arrangements.
David Legrand of Fraser Monaco commented: “VIRTUS is one of the best-balanced heavy displacement yachts of its generation presenting the perfect combination of Dutch architecture and Italian design. She is finished to the highest shipyard standards I have come to know in my 20 years of experience, and I am proud to be her worldwide co central agent in partnership with Alain Auvare of On-Board Yachting.”
