The Republic of Seychelles is an archipelago of 116-islands in the Indian Ocean famous for their azure waters and white sand beaches. The Seychelles islands enjoy a year-round tropical climate, beautiful scenery and calm waters making them an ideal luxury yacht charter destination.
Step aboard your yacht in Mahé, which is the Seychelles principal island housing both Seychelles International Airport and the country’s capital Victoria. Spring and late autumn are ideal times to visit with balmy temperatures and clear waters. Here are our top reasons to visit on your luxury yacht: Picture Postcard Beaches The islands of the Seychelles are famous the world over for their picture-postcard beaches with Mahé alone boasting over 65 beaches. Thanks to the protection offered by its ring of surrounding islands, Mahé’s beaches are relatively sheltered and a perfect place to jump from the yachts’ swim platform in these beautiful and safe waters. Seychelles superyacht charterBeau Vallon on Mahé is surprisingly crowd-free considering the wide variety of activities that are offered, from snorkelling to parasailing. Its three km of sparkling white sands lined with coconut palms greets you with the promise of a sublime day. However, if you are seeking true seclusion you should try Anse Intendance on the west coast of the island. Enjoy cocktails on the sundeck on warm afternoons and watch the sun go down on this unspoilt stretch of paradise. Set sail for La Digue Island to find a beautifully isolated overnight anchorage at Anse Coco on SE side of the island with a beautiful sand beach with a mountainous backdrop. Due to rip currents if you want to take a dip it’s best to head to the protected pools at the northern tip of the beach. Another superb beach is the stunning white sands at Anse Source d'Argent accessible by a path running through the old L'Union Estate coconut plantation. garage_originalCruise to the North West of La Digue, Praslin Island that boasts beaches such as Anse Lazio that has consistently been voted among the best beaches in the world. Take time to relax and enjoy some sun on the deck or Jacuzzi and absorb the beauty of this idyllic place. Snorkelling and Diving If you have snorkelling and diving equipment on board you will want to take advantage of the superb conditions in the Seychelles. Conveniently many of the best areas are located close to the islands within the marine parks, making them ideal for beginners. Ste. Anne Marine National Park is situated just off the coast of Mahé and is comprised of six islands offering some excellent reefs with multi-coloured corals of all shapes and sizes. The park contains one of the largest areas of sea-grass meadow in the Indian Ocean where green turtles commonly feed. If you are a more advanced diver we recommend a stop at Alphonse Island which is teeming with marine life. Clown-fish_originalConditions for swimming, snorkelling and especially diving are excellent during April and May and October and November when water temperatures sometimes rise as high as 29ºC and under-water visibility is superb. A Nature Lovers Paradise Cruise to the small forest reserve of La Veuve on La Digue which is the last remaining habitat of the black paradise flycatcher, whilst on Pralin Island, the Vallee de Mai nature reserve is an UNESCO World Heritage Site. This reserve is one of the only remaining places in the world to see coco de mer palms growing naturally and is also home to a wide variety of animal and bird-life including the rare Black Parrot. seych-west_originalAfter an abundance of Seychelles’ breath-taking nature and spectacular beaches, finish your luxury yacht charter with a relaxing stay at the Rock Spa on Frégate Island, the original luxury eco-retreat.
