Chef Hadleigh Corban of M/Y RIMA II named by leading yacht website as Chef of the Month
An essential ingredient of any successful superyacht charter is the galley and Fraser Yachts, the worlds leading yacht sales and charter brokerage, is delighted to announce that Chef Hadleigh Corban of M/Y RIMA II, has been named by yachting website Charterwave as their Chef of the Month.
New Zealand-born Corban hails from a culinary background, having worked in restaurants from the age of 14 and completing his professional training in Wellington, New Zealand. Mr Corban has a number of years experience in the yachting industry, starting out as a chef on a sailing yacht in Greece before gaining experience on larger charter yachts. He joined M/Y RIMA II at the start of the 2014 Mediterranean charter season and brings to the galley a portfolio of specialties that include seafood dishes, Pacific Rim fusion and Asian cuisine. Mr Corban is the first to admit that, whilst he can easily create a classic French menu featuring traditionally heavy fare, he prefers to craft meals that are light and fresh. “I put out a suggested menu for guests to discuss, and I treat the galley like a mini-restaurant. I have all the basics prepped and ready so that whatever the guests prefer, I’m ready. I can always say yes.” Charter guests with dietary requirements are also catered for and Mr Corban is also familiar with molecular gastronomy techniques, which he believes keeps fresh and flavourful foods more interesting. M/Y RIMA II is a 49.50m Benetti superyacht for charter. Boasting a ultra modern interior and generous interior and exterior entertaining spaces, the yacht can accommodate 12 guests in six staterooms. She is available for summer and winter charters in the Mediterranean from €149,000 per week.
