Charter Opportunities for the America’s Cup 2017 in Bermuda

The eyes of the international yachting community will turn to Bermuda in June 2017 as the exotic island plays host to the 35^th America’s Cup - one of the yachting world’s iconic events. Defending champions, ORACLE TEAM USA, will meet the top challenger on June 17^th after a rigorous qualifying schedule, which starts on May 26^th.

Fraser Charter Broker, Fiona McCarthy, offered an insider’s perspective on the great regatta, in which sailors battle it out for the oldest trophy in international sport:

“The America’s Cup in Bermuda next June will be a truly spectacular event. This historic trophy will be fought over by cutting edge foiling multi hulls powered by wing sails – the boats reaching speeds previously never seen in yacht racing. This, combined with the course layout, makes the America’s Cup a truly exhilarating spectator sport.”

For an unbeatable experience and a prime view of the great race, Fiona recommends chartering a yacht in the Superyacht Program, in which certain vessels are allowed exclusive berths in Hamilton and the Royal Naval Dockyard - the race headquarters:

M/Y LADY SARA

M/Y LADY SARA is a 57.00m Trinity superyacht, built in 2012. Complementing opulent interiors with generous exterior spaces, she is the ideal charter option on which to celebrate the America’s Cup with friends and family.

M/Y BIG EAGLE is a 52.43m superyacht from the Mie shipyard. Launched in 1980, with a complete refit in 2008, she can accommodate 12 guests and is a popular choice on the charter market.

M/Y LUMIERE

M/Y LUMIERE offers luxury in abundance, with spacious and light interiors, a top deck Jacuzzi, and alfresco movie theatre. The 49.89m yacht was launched by Benetti in 1999 and underwent a full refit in 2014.

M/Y SIETE

M/Y SIETE is another classic from the Benetti shipyard. Built in 2002, the 35.05m superyacht underwent a full refit in 2015. Her award-winning crew is on hand to create the ultimate charter experience.

M/Y JAZZ

Built by Benetti in 2007, M/Y JAZZ is a stunning 30.23m superyacht for charter, which offers an array of the latest tenders and toys and can accommodate eight guests.

Fiona thinks Bermuda is the perfect location to host the event:
