A Show Stopping 16th Edition of the Fraser Yachts Captain\'s Dinner
The 16th edition of the Fraser Yachts Captains’ Dinner took place on Thursday September 29th at the Monaco Yacht Club and welcomed over 400 guests. One of the most popular events of the Monaco Yacht Show, the annual Captains’ Dinner & Awards is held every year to thank the charter Captains and crew who work so hard for their guests throughout the year.
This year, the prestigious Charter Captain of the year award went to Captain Graham Wilkinson of S/Y PRANA. The crew and Captain Andrea Aste of M/Y VICTORY took away the Best Charter Crew (yacht over 50m) award and the Best Charter Crew (yacht under 50m) was awarded to Captain Claud Akers and his wife Emma and the rest of their crew from M/Y ASKARI. The awards were presented by Lisa Peck, Global Marketing Manager of Fraser Yachts, Roberto Giorgi Chairman of Fraser Yachts, and Raphael Sauleau CEO of Fraser Yachts.
The prizes were generously provided by the sponsors of the evening, many of them long standing partners. Ulysse Nardin once again sponsored the Charter Captain of the year award with a stunning Marine Chronometer Manufacture watch. Other gifts for the winning captain included 2 weeks free berthing courtesy of Port Adriano, an imperial bottle of L’Esprit de Provence Rosé provided by Le Grand Cros (voted best rosé in the world by Decanter magazine), a desktop writing set by Sabrina Monte Carlo and a Go Pro donated by Equiom.
The Best Charter Crew (yacht over 50m) received 2 weeks free berthing courtesy of Port Adriano, a set of Black Label Cosmolite Samsonite luggage and an annual Prestige Priority Pass providing complimentary access to airport lounges around the world from Global Marine Travel, an afternoon’s wine tasting or cocktail training on board for the entire crew by VSF, a training voucher to the value of 1000EUR or a Big Boys Toys Experience day to a value of 3000EUR provided by Zephyr yachting a private cinema experience at the refitted Idea Works showroom in Monaco and a bottle of champagne from Agents.
All the way from Tahiti, the Best Charter Crew (yacht under 50m) were also treated to a set of Samsonite luggage Prestige Priority Pass by Global Marine Travel and a bottle of champagne from Agents as well as some unique Tahitian themed prizes which included, spa treatments at the Ia Ora resort in Moorea, pearl jewellery by Robert Wan and dinners at some of the finest dining spots of French Polynesia courtesy of Tahiti Private Expeditions, Tahiti Tourisme, Tahiti Superyacht Support and Tahiti Ocean.
Gastronomy‐wise, prior to the awards ceremony guests were able to sample some exquisite caviar generously provided by Boyar Caviar, purveyors of fine Siberian sturgeon, Oscietra and Beluga caviar. Guests then enjoyed a delicious hot and cold buffet and a cocktail bar complete with flair barmen, whilst the wine was provided by VSF through the generosity of the vineyard Le Grand Cros.
The entertainment this year had an exotic feel with Brazilian themed dancing by Compagnie Corps et Danse, a live singer, the legendary Port Adriano Fun Parade and a DJ made sure the dance floor was packed all evening with guests dancing into the early hours of the morning. Those wanting a more relaxed evening reclined on the beautiful Paola Lenti furniture provided by Sabrina while enjoying the magnificent view of over 100 yachts on display in the Port of Monaco, while others on the terrace enjoyed the cigars provided by My Fathers Cigars.
Numerous other sponsors also contributed to the over flowing goodie bags and animations on the evening, and a special thank you goes to everyone involved:
