A Look Ahead at the Monaco Yacht Show
Not wanting to wish the summer away but it never harms to be prepared, so here’s a quick look forward to one of the world’s best events for those seeking a yacht for sale: The Monaco Yacht Show. The glamorous yacht show in the dramatic setting of Port Hercules in the Principality of Monaco has become the most anticipated event in the yachting calendar, attended by dozens of luxury yacht brokers with some seriously mega yachts for sale.
This year will be no different. From September 19th until 22nd 2012 more than 28 000 visitors are expected to descend on one of the world’s smallest – but infinitely smartest – countries for the ultimate in luxury yachts.
Potential clients looking for their perfect yacht for sale will be able to peruse the 100’s of super yachts that will be berthed at the exhibition site at the foot of the grandiose Prince’s Palace of Monaco, the home of Prince Albert and Princess Charlene.
In the same way that the Monaco Yacht Show has grown since it was first launched in 1990, so too have the size of yachts for sale, with this year’s average measuring in at 44 metres in length, compared to 42 metres just four years ago. Forty of these magnificent yachts for sale are brand new boats that will appear at the show for the very first time. Setting up the Monaco Yacht Show is a mammoth task which takes weeks – so spare a thought as you cruise around the Med for the teams of stand fitters who will be hard at work in the month leading up to the opening event. As the rest of us enjoy the rest of the summer, teams of workers will be setting up 13,000 square meters of floor area and laying 15,000 square meters of carpet before bringing more than 500 plants to Monaco to ensure the show is pretty on the eye.
