A CELEBRATORY 19TH EDITION OF THE FRASER CAPTAINS’ DINNER

The 2019 Fraser Captains’  Dinner and Awards took place on Thursday September 26th, 2019 at the Monaco Yacht Club, welcoming over 500 guests. The renowned event, now in its 19th edition, is a celebration of the Captains and Crew in the Fraser Charter fleet and a way for us to say thank you to them for all their hard work throughout the season.

This year the event was extra special as it also marked the 30th anniversary of The Crew Network, Fraser’s crew placement agency. As part of the celebrations a new look logo was revealed and a glimpse of the company’s soon to be released new website.

This year saw the Charter Captain of the year Award go to Captain James Griffith and Captain Michael Droszcz, who work as rotational Captains from M/Y HERE COMES THE SUN (pictured below).


The Best Charter Crew (yacht over 50m) award went to Captain Rob Shelnut and the crew of M/Y LUCKY LADY, who sadly couldn't join us for the evening therefore their award was collected on their behalf by their Charter Manager, Pat Codere (pictured below).



Finally, the Best Charter Crew (yacht under 50m) was awarded to Captain Ian Hawkins and his crew from M/Y QUASAR (pictured below).

The Best Charter Crews (over and under 50m) won an incredible selection of prizes provided by the generous sponsors of the event. Both received sail bags from Slam, swim shorts from Naeco, sunglasses from GMT, a Gold Magnum of Prosecco from VSF, bottles of Le Rosé Bleu, GiveMeTap bottles from GF Events, 2 weeks free berth courtesy of Port Adriano and a Sports C-Dock from Nautibouy.

The winning Captains were even more lucky, winning all of the above as well as each winning a Ujet scooter, a weekend in a 6* hotel courtesy of Ischia Spa, a set of luxury bed linen and bathrobe and towels by Cinzia Bulciolu, a set of Bose earphones provided by Centtrip, a Garmin Sports watch courtesy of Omni Access, a trolley bag provided by Slam, a gourmet hamper courtesy of Maison del Gusto, headsets provided by Pantaenius and tickets to Goodwood Festival of speed complete with hospitality package courtesy of Compass Tenders.

Guests were welcomed with champagne from luxury champagne house Perrier Jouet and after the awards ceremony, a delicious buffet with foods from all around the world was served, accompanied with wine provided by VSF and Le Rosé Bleu, a new partner of Fraser which makes a donation to the charity Plastic Oceans (who Fraser also works with) for every bottle purchased which funds 100 plastic bottles to be removed from the sea.

Guests also enjoyed a range of cocktails at the cocktail bar complete with flair barmen while being entertained by the renowned magician Tony Steward who wowed guests with his tricks, dancers and singers from Julia Ross Productions, a selfie mirror and sampled a Distinction Armagnac tasting and cigars from Davidoff before hitting the dance floor.

Numerous other sponsors also contributed to the overflowing goodie bags which featured head phones, wallets, Spanish ham, tote bags, key rings, caps, luggage tags and many more gifts, including a handy Sober Up bottle to ensure that everyone was on fantastic form for the next day of the yacht show!
