FRASER WELCOMES THE 80M M/Y ARTEFACT TO ITS YACHT MANAGEMENT FLEET
Fraser is delighted to announce that the 80m superyacht M/Y ARTEFACT, currently in build with Nobiskrug (Hull no. 790), has joined its Yacht Management fleet. Fraser will be providing full management services.
Previously known as Project 790, the 80m superyacht was recently unveiled at the 2018 Monaco Yacht Show and is a rare build example of designers, architects, yard and Owner all working together to make a distinct vision come to life.
ARTEFACT’s unique exterior and interior styling – designed by Gregory Marshall Studio and Reymond Langton Design, respectively – reflect the discerning Owner’s wish to achieve a list of special criteria that includes environmental responsibility, technological innovation and guest comfort.
Due for completion in 2019, the hybrid yacht will be one of the first built under the new IMO Tier III low emissions regulations with an array of first-of-their-kind technology features and engineering advances. These include the use of solar panels and a large battery storage system allowing the vessel to operate for a limited time with no internal combustion engines operating. An electric pod propulsion combined with a position-keeping system can hold the yacht’s position without dropping anchor to protect the sea floor and waste water can be re-used as technical water.
In addition, the quest for silent operation and maximum stability has been a driving force behind the concept for this vessel. In a major departure from conventional yacht design, the Master stateroom is situated in the aft rather than the bow and all guest entertainment areas are in low-acceleration zones. Extensive hull development and testing have ensured that the vessel will cruise comfortably.
Other notable features that further differentiate ARTEFACT as a striking superyacht are found in the distinctive exterior created by Gregory Marshall Studio. These include the special use of large custom and curved glass – the highest ratio of glass used to date in this size category – which create a distinctly remarkable profile.
“This project is a true example of the Owner’s focus and his vision to build a distinctive state of the art hybrid superyacht with as many integrated environmentally- friendly features as possible.” says Holger Kahl, managing director of Nobiskrug.
Harald Van Exem, Director of Yacht Services at Fraser, comments “ARTEFACT is the result of a very well thought-through design where every detail related to operational, esthetical and technological requirements has been considered and accommodated. Fraser is extremely proud to be entrusted for her Management, assisting the Captain and crew to deliver the Owner pure enjoyment in his future cruising plans.”
