Senior IT Technician

Location: Antibes, France

Position Summary

We are looking for technically skilled candidates for the position of Senior IT technician, based in Antibes, France, to join our European team.

The duties of an Senior IT technician include being a reference point for all IT related queries at the user level, mainly for our six offices between Cannes and Monaco, responding to user needs in a timely manner and ensuring the optimal running of all systems, among other technical duties.

He will also need to assist the IT Manager to maintain the IT infrastructure and conduct projects.

Senior IT technicians are expected to display good interpersonal skills as they will interact with colleagues from various departments and executive levels.

They are required to listen to their technical needs, understand their problems, and implement solutions to them.

 
 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with the maintenance of the headquarter IT infrastructure (M365, Virtual Infrastructure, Windows Servers, Cisco switching, Meraki network, UniFi network, System Monitoring, Systems Security);
  • Set up, check, and upgrade computers and peripheral devices (screen, docking station, mouse, keyboard, headset, etc.) in Cannes and Antibes;
  • Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications and internal procedures;
  • Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance and maintain a certain level of security and privacy;
  • Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment;
  • Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.);
  • Maintain the IT inventory, identify computer or equipment shortages and place orders;
  • Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule through the Service Desk tool;
  • Maintaining and updating technical documentation regularly;
  • Testing new hardware and software before full-scale installation.
 
 

REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB (SKILLS AND PRIOR EXPERIENCE)

1 - Technical skills:

  • Proven experience as Senior IT Technician or relevant position
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication ability
  • Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
  • Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
  • In depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks

  1. Windows Server 2012 to 2022 : Active Directory, File Servers/DFS

2 - Business Experience / Business exposure:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in computer networks and systems maintenance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, in both English and French.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in yachting or similar luxury environment is a plus.

 

The position requires a few travels per year in our European Locations.
