Hybrid superyacht 80m ARTEFACT is a revolutionary green yacht in the Fraser Yacht Management services fleet

Described by ARTEFACT’s visionary builder, Nobiskrug, as ‘a perfect marriage of art & science’, this yacht in the Fraser Management fleet is a masterpiece of innovation and design. ARTEFACT was built with a strong environmental focus, following over 2 years of research and development. She is one of the first yachts to meet IMO Tier III emissions regulations.

The brainchild of a forward-thinking builder and an eco-conscious owner, the goal was to create a stunning vessel which utilises cutting-edge technologies to cruise with minimal impact on the environment.

During the build, Fraser Yacht Managers worked alongside the captain/build team to crew up the vessel progressively as the build advanced. They assisted in the crew training and familiarisation rollout, as well as implementing the safety management systems. Timely engagement of yacht management services assisted in ensuring a qualified and properly trained crew were fully focused on the future Owner’s enjoyment once the yacht was delivered.

Today, Fraser continues to manage the yacht, working closely with Captain Aaron T. Clark to ensure smooth operations around the world.

Captain Clark commented: "When it came time to find a suitable management company and DPA for the privately-registered M/Y ARTEFACT with its unique parameters, I consulted with four management companies. I found Fraser to be the best-suited to our requirements, able to tailor-make an operational format to suit our needs. The working relationship has proven to be excellent over the past two and a half years and all aspects that we require of a management company have either been met or exceeded."

Using a Dynamic Positioning System, no anchor is required, which avoids damage to the sea floor and marine environment. All wastewater on board is recycled for technical water uses.

One of the largest-volume 80m yachts on the planet at 2,999GT, ARTEFACT features over 740sqm of floor-to-ceiling custom curved glasswork throughout, weighing almost 60 tonnes.

Her striking and truly unique profile was the work of Gregory Marshall Studio (exterior) and Reymond Langton Design (interior) which ensured the criteria of guest comfort left nothing to be desired.

Promoting ‘clean’ yachting and ideally forging a path for future green yachts builders, this is a remarkable superyacht that Fraser is proud to offer its yacht management services to.

Philipp Maracke, Managing Director of Nobiskrug:

“This project is a true example of the Owner’s focus and his vision to build a distinctive state of the art hybrid superyacht with as many integrated environmentally-friendly features as possible.”

Harald Van Exem, Director of Yacht Management Services at Fraser:

“ARTEFACT is the result of a very well thought-through design where every detail related to operational, esthetical and technological requirements has been considered and accommodated. Fraser is extremely proud to be entrusted for her Management, assisting the Captain and crew to deliver the Owner pure enjoyment in his future cruising plans.”

Build Captain Aaron T. Clark:

"ARTEFACT is a unique vessel that marries cutting-edge engineering and striking architectural design to embody a tribute to the nuances of human experience that are often overlooked or ignored. Many traditional aspects of superyacht GA’s have been challenged and reimagined in this design to create an unprecedented experience while minimising the impact on fragile marine ecosystems."
