Eclipse – $1.5 Billion – A Closer Look at the Most Expensive Yacht Ever Built

At 533 feet long, motor yacht ECLIPSE is considered the most expensive private yacht in the world. But what makes it perhaps even more unique are its intruder and missile detection systems, bullet-proof windows, and anti-paparazzi laser shield. Perfectly protected, the owner and their guests can enjoy the yacht’s sumptuous cabins, two swimming pools, hot tubs, and a disco hall.

The luxury vessel was constructed by German shipbuilder Blohm+Voss and designed by Terence Disdale. ECLIPSE boasts a top speed of 21 knots and, on a full tank, can achieve a maximum range of 6,000 nautical miles.

If you’re looking to buy a yacht, this one may be a bit much. Thankfully, not everyone needs their yacht to detect missiles.

AZZAM may not be the most expensive yacht in the world, but it is undoubtedly the largest. This 590-foot-long yacht is a marvel of engineering, sporting two gas turbines and two diesel engines. With 35,048kW of power and a top speed of over 30 knots, it is one of the fastest boats in its category. It also features a bulletproof master suite and a missile defense system. Yacht A+ – $527 Million

Lürssen-built A+ was designed by Tim Heywood (exterior), while Terence Disdale Design focused on the interior. The latter features a large jacuzzi on the main deck, a swimming pool, a gym, a conference room, a cinema, and double-helicopter landing pads. All onboard systems benefit from stabilizers powered by two diesel generators, and the yacht’s 7,99hp engine allows it to achieve a top speed of 23 knots.

Motor Yacht A – $440 Million

Motor Yacht A is famous for its submarine or warship-like design. It extends over 24,000 square feet, featuring a 2,500 square-foot master bedroom, six guest suites that convert into four large staterooms thanks to their clever moving walls, and three swimming pools (including one with a glass bottom right above the disco). It also houses a 30-foot speedboat.

DUBAI - $400 Million

DUBAI’s luxurious design certainly lives up to the standards of the Royal Family. The beautiful mosaic swimming pool, relaxing jacuzzis, and comfortable sunbathing areas promise a wonderful experience for the guests.
