Antigua yacht charter
If you want a Caribbean yacht charter that combines “island-time” fun with the tranquility of remote anchorages, Antigua and neighbouring dependent Barbuda have the answer. From historical fortresses and upscale resorts to Robinson Crusoe-style beaches, you can find it all.
Antigua is the largest of the English speaking Leeward Islands. Much of its yachting activity is focused on the south of the island, in Falmouth Harbour and English Harbour. As home to many sailing yacht regattas, Antigua is particularly popular with the sailing yacht set, although there is plenty of space for motor yachts in the larger marinas too. The island is almost completely surrounded by well-preserved coral reefs, walls and shipwrecks. The southern and eastern coasts of Antigua are surrounded by shelves, providing excellent conditions for shallow diving and snorkelling.

Naval history & Boutique shopping
There is an inimitable charming atmosphere in Falmouth and English Harbours, where in one day you can visit the beautiful Pigeon Beach with its relaxed beach shacks, head over to Catherine’s Café Plage for some excellent fresh flavours for lunch, and then explore the island’s naval history at Nelsons Dockyard.
Outstanding anchorage
Head east to Green Island and the tranquil private anchorage off the Mill Reef Club resort. As it is only possible to reach the island by boat, it is less crowded than spots off Antigua’s mainland. There is particularly excellent snorkelling in the area.
Sundowners with a view
Partly renovated observation post at Shirley Heights is home to the famous Sunday evening Reggae Party. Locals, yacht crew and visitors head up to this viewpoint looking over English Harbour to watch the sun set with the local music and rum punch flowing. Look out for the infamous ‘green flash’ as the sun finally disappears beyond the horizon.
Regatta time
Each April, Antigua attracts some of the world’s most prestigious classic superyachts for the Classic Yacht Regatta. After three decades, the weeklong race continues to draw visitors from across the globe to watch the stunning display of yachts battle it out for silverware. Regatta regulars include S/Y Eleonora, S/Y Elena of London and S/Y Rebecca.
